Delivery robots face the problem of storage and computational stress when performing immediate tasks, exceeding the limits of on-board computing power. Based on cloud computing, robots can offload intensive tasks to the cloud and acquire massive data resources. With its distributed cluster architecture, the platform can help offload computing and improve the computing power of the control center, which can be considered the external “brain” of the robot. Although it expands the capabilities of the robot, cloud service deployment remains complex because most current cloud robot applications are based on monolithic architectures. Some scholars have proposed developing robot applications through the microservice development paradigm, but there is currently no unified microservice-based robot cloud platform..............
Some challenging issues exist in trajectory tracking control of an uncertain bilaterally symmetrical hybrid robot (UBSHR) with variational desired trajectories, mainly the uncertainty problem of UBSHR, the synchronization problem of UBSHR’s active joints and bilateral symmetrical hybrid mechanisms, and the flexible control problem of active adaption to different technological requirements without artificially adjusting the control parameters or switching the hardware system.............
This paper introduces a novel kinematic model for a tendon‐driven compliant torso mechanism for humanoid robots, which describes the complex behaviour of a system characterised by the interaction of a complex compliant element with rigid bodies and actuation tendons. Inspired by a human spine, the proposed mechanism is based on a flexible backbone whose shape is controlled by two pairs of antagonistic tendons. First, the structure is analysed to identify the main modes of motion................
The position of mechanical arm in people’s life is getting higher and higher. It replaces the function of human arm, moving and moving in space. Generally, the structure is composed of mechanical body, controller, servo mechanism, and sensor, and some specified actions are set to complete according to the actual production requirements. The manipulator has flexible operation, good stability, and high safety, so it is widely used in industrial automation production line. With the development of science and technology, many practical production requirements for the function of the manipulator are more and more refined, especially in the high-end research field. For example, medical devices, automobile manufacturing, deep-sea submarines, and space station maintenance put forward higher requirements for it...............
Proprioception—the sense of body segment’s position and movement—plays a crucial role in human motor control, integrating the sensory information necessary for the correct execution of daily life activities. Despite scientific evidence recognizes that several neurological diseases hamper proprioceptive encoding with consequent inability to correctly perform movements, proprioceptive assessment in clinical settings is still limited to standard scales. Literature on physiology of upper limb’s proprioception is mainly focused on experimental approaches involving planar setups, while the present work provides a novel paradigm for assessing proprioception during single—and multi‐joint matching tasks in a three‐dimensional workspace.............
